Tatum Robotics Foundation
Our
Story
To better understand the Tatum Robotics Foundation's mission, which is "to empower DeafBlind independence through education and accessible technology," one must understand the technology created at Tatum Robotics and the DeafBlind community we work with.

An estimated 2.5 million people in the United States are DeafBlind, yet access to communication education, assistive technology, and support remains critically limited. Many DeafBlind individuals go without the tools they need to connect with the world around them. The Tatum Robotics Foundation exists so that no one has to navigate this system alone.

Tatum Robotics has created Tatum1: a robotic system that translates English into tactile fingerspelling, enabling DeafBlind individuals to accurately and comfortably access communication in real-time. Using Tatum1 DeafBlind individuals can access the time, weather, news, messaging and calling independently!

The Tatum Robotics Foundation was born out of a simple but powerful belief: communication is a fundamental right, and education is the key to unlocking it.
